Discover the charm of southern Beaujolais, often called the "Tuscany of France," with its rolling hills and picturesque hilltop villages. Just north of Lyon, venture into this lush, hilly region, known for its famed Beaujolais Nouveau wine and golden-stone architecture.

Join your driver-guide on a cultural and gourmet adventure, including an introduction to wine and a tasting session with a local winemaker. Travel through scenic landscapes where villages glow in warm golden stones.

Relish a wine-tasting session amid the vineyards, savoring two distinct wines paired with a local pastry, while learning about the “terroir” that makes each wine unique. Continue to Oingt, a 12th-century village listed as one of France’s Most Beautiful Villages, and stroll its medieval streets.

End your tour at a family-owned winery where the friendly winemaker shares his craft and offers a tasting with a traditional Lyon “mâchon” of local cold meats and cheeses.

What type of accommodation will I stay in?

You’ll stay in a mix of hotels, luxury tented camps, and unique lodges such as the Treetops Lodge in Aberdares. Each property has been selected for comfort, location, and an authentic safari experience but we can also change the itinerary to suit your accommodation preferences.

Will I see the Big Five?

Yes, there’s a very high chance. The itinerary covers Ol Pejeta (home to rhinos), Lake Nakuru (known for rhinos and leopards), and the Masai Mara (renowned for lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, and leopards).

What kind of safari vehicle is used?

You’ll travel in a custom safari 4 x 4 Land cruiser vehicle with a pop-up roof for the best game-viewing and photography experience. Vehicles are comfortable and designed for both long drives and off-road exploration.

How long are the game drives?

Morning and afternoon game drives typically last 2–3 hours. Full-day safaris (like in Masai Mara) may include picnic lunches in the bush.

What should I pack for this safari?

Pack light, comfortable clothing in neutral colors, a warm jacket for early mornings and evenings, good walking shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, binoculars, and your camera gear.

Is this safari suitable for families?

Yes, this itinerary is family-friendly. Many lodges welcome children, and the variety of destinations keeps the trip exciting for all ages.

Do I need any vaccinations or malaria medication?

Yes, Kenya is a malaria zone, so anti-malarial medication is recommended. Travelers should also check with their doctor about yellow fever and other routine vaccinations.

When is the best time to take this safari?

The safari can be done year-round. For the Great Migration in Masai Mara, the best time is July to October. Bird lovers may prefer the wet season (November–April) when migratory species are present.

Will I have internet or phone service during the trip?

Most lodges and camps offer Wi-Fi in common areas, but connections may be slow. Phone coverage is available in many areas, though it can be patchy in remote reserves.

Is travel insurance required?

Yes, travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellation, and evacuation is strongly recommended.
